Like most people, you are probably grounded and not looking to return to travel soon. However, if you are one of the few who is leaving your home country, it is important to be aware of which countries will require Covid testing on arrival. Whether you are have a voucher that needs to be used, have essential business, or are finally returning home after Covid delays, these are the countries where you can expect to get a Covid test on arrival.
Bahrain – Those who need to enter will be tested for Covid 19 (at their expense, about $80/test). If test is negative, quarantine isn’t required, but they will be tested again after 10 days.
Belgium – A Covid test is not required for entry, since all who enters form outside the EU or UK must take a test on arrival and be quarantined for 14 days.
Benin – Those who arrive are subjected to Covid testing at their own cost (about $165), and quarantine for the time that it takes to find out the test results.
Bermuda – All arrivals must complete a travel authorization form and pay a fee of $75, which includes the cost of testing on arrival.
Cambodia – Foreign visitors must pay a $2000 deposit for an on-arrival Covid test (about $165) and quarantine fee.
Cameroon – Air travelers will also undergo a rapid Covid test on arrival, and will be quarantined for 14 days at home, if negative, and at a government facility, if positive.
Cayman Islands – Travelers can expect to have both a test before arrival, and an additional test eight days after arrival.
Chad – Travelers will be administered a test on arrival at their expense.
Djibouti – Arriving passengers, including transit passengers, shall be tested for Covid on arrival.
Dominica – Travelers will need to provide a test taken before arrival and be administered a test on arrival.
Estonia – T hose who arrive for essential work from non-EU/Schengen and on EU’s list countries must take a Covid test immediately on arrival.
Ethiopia – Travelers can expect to be screen and tested on arrival; how and where they quarantine will depend on their test result.
Faroe Islands – Everyone over 12 will be tested for Covid on arrival, free of charge, and will need to self-quarantine until they receive the results.
France – Those from the following countries will need to take a Covid test on arrival: Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, India, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Madagascar, Maldives, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Serbia, South Africa, and Turkey.
French Polynesia – A self-test provided by French Polynesia upon arrival will need to be carried out on the fourth day after arrival.
Ghana – Those arriving will be tested for Covid on arrival.
Grenada – Everyone arriving must be tested for Covid, and download a contact – tracing app (covid19.gov.gd).
Hong Kong – All arrivals will be tested for Covid at the Hong Kong international airport, and they will wait for their results prior to departure.
Hungary – An on-arrival test is administered for travelers coming from yellow countries. Yellow countries include Bulgaria, Canada, China, Japan, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, UK, and the U.S.
Iceland – Except for passengers from Norway, Denmark, Finland and Germany, those who arrive can get two Covid-19 tests (at their expense) or quarantine for 14 days.
Iraq – If you are going to the Kurdish region, you will be tested for Covid on arrival.
Jamaica – Visitors can expect to be tested for Covid on arrival.
Japan – All arrivals will be tested for Covid and should get their results in an hour.
Jordan – Everyone will be administered a Covid PCR test on arrival at their expense, and must wait a few hours for the test results.
Lithuania – Denmark, Greece, Ireland, and UK travelers will need to self-isolate and get tested within 24 hours of arrival.
Malaysia – Anyone who enters will be tested for Covid 19 upon arrival.
Nauru – All arriving passengers will be subjected to testing and quarantine.
Niger – They will also be tested on arrival at their expense and are encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Paraguay – All arriving pre-authorized passengers must submit to Covid testing on arrival, and be self-isolated for 14 days if the test is negative, or quarantine for 30 days, if positive.
Qatar – Arrivals will be tested on arrival and will need to self-isolate for seven days upon arrival.
Singapore – All arrivals are subjected to a stay at home order and a Covid test at the end of the period.
South Korea – An on-arrival COVID-test is required, depending on points of departure, visa status, and nationality.
Sri Lanka – Travelers will be tested and quarantined on arrival.
Sudan – Returning residents will be tested on arrival.
Tajikistan – Those who arrive are administered a Covid test and must quarantine for 14 days in a government facility.
Togo – They will be tested on arrival and be held pending the test result.
Turkey – Arriving passengers shall be tested for Covid on arrival. Transit passengers are exempt.
Uruguay – All permitted arrivals will be examined on arrival, and be quarantined for the 7 days, after which you must take a PCR test to exit from quarantine. You must pay for your own test, which is approximately $126.
